Our 76th Foreign Tour
When we think of tracing our roots, many of us think of Ireland. If it is not true individually, it certainly is true of our nation. We have visited parts of the Emerald Isle on several previous tours. In 2003 we devoted a complete tour to Ireland. It turned out to be one of the most leisurely and enjoyable tours we have conducted. We are repeating many of the places we visited in 2003, but we are adding sites in northern Ireland (Derry, Belfast, and sites associated with Thomas and Alexander Campbell near Armagh).
Elizabeth and I have been traveling to exciting foreign places and sharing them with others since 1967. We have conducted tours to all parts of Europe, Russia, the Middle East, Scandinavia, Iberia, Morocco, South Africa and Zimbabwe, Australia, New Zeland, China, and the South Pacific. In 1996 we conducted a tour around the world. We expect the tours for 2010 to fill quickly. We hope you will decide soon to join us.
What Will We See?
- Glendalough in County Wicklow. We will drive through the Wicklow Mountains to Glendalough. In the early seventh century A.D. St. Kevin founded a monastery at Glendalough that flourished for the next 600 years. The setting of this place, along with the monastic ruins, is magnificent.
